In the oldest part of the structure, in the original feeding area of the stall, today restructured, the “Taverna del Romitorio” revives the original atmosphere.The antique pavement in clay tile and the chestnut ceiling beams together with all manner of antique tuscan objects and farming equipment help to grant a feeling of times gone by. During the summer season on the other hand, the sweet hills of Chianti with their vines, woodlands, and olive groves provide for the atmosphere on the terrace of the restaurant.Exclusively reserved for our clientele, the Taverna del Romitorio offers the opportunity to sample gastronomic selections typical of our region which also have become known throughout the world. Simple dishes, accompanied by memories of the old atmosphere and experiences to recollect, are those which our kitchen would like you to try, offering the best recipes of the tuscan tradition, handed down through the generations and accompanied by wine, a lovely view over Tuscany, and the extra virgin oil of our olives. Greatly appreciated by our guests throughout the years, the restaurant of the Romitorio serves breakfast,light lunches, and dinner. For those who wish, it is possible also to make use of our “Dinner delivery”service and have dinner brought directly to ones’ apartment. Our abundant breakfast consists of fresh homemade offerings, both sweet and savory… baked goods, jams, fruit salad, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, and more. At dinnertime our kitchen serves both traditional and newer tuscan fare, with great attention to seasonal ingredients from the immediate surroundings. The simple and savory tuscan offerings off our lunchtime menu, cold dishes, tasty sandwiches, and tuscan specialties, are served in traditional straw baskets so as to allow for picnicking. As per ones’ particular requests and/or needs vegetarian and gutenfree selections are available, as well as smaller / child portions.
